I totally love watching romantic comedies, unfortunately real life is not as glamorous as the film, so after watching you might actually end up in a worse mood than before and wanting to switch your preferences to horror movies. :)
Let's just take 'When Harry Met Sally' for a start. In the film Sally fakes an orgasm in a restaurant, Harry is embarrassed but we all know he loves it. What can you expect in reality? Sally might choke on her chicken, burp and drink too much wine and this is the only entertainment of the evening. That would be embarrassing but not very sexy. :/
In films people tend to bump into each other all the time, wake up already wearing make up and looking gorgeous. In reality a girl is very likely to bump into her 'ex' exclusively on her 'bad hair day' and with no make up whatsoever. And what's the story with meeting the love of your life while walking your dog in a park or on the way to a shop to buy a bottle of milk? In real life all you can expect is to be robbed in the park and hassled for some change near the local grocery shop or cash point and the gentlemen you meet are not the ones you wish to spend a minute of your life with.
And the cheesiest part - she leaves to another city after an argument and he is chasing her and manages to catch her seconds before she boards the plane. Everyone knows he will catch her! Come on. They are back together after that, of course. How do they do that? In reality she would get that plane and find a better boyfriend ;)
How about coming back to our favorite world of escorts and call girls for a while - 'Pretty Woman'- at some point Julia Roberts throws the money back at Richard Gere and walks away. And near the end of the film he is coming to pick her up with a limo and they live happily ever after. See what I mean!? :)
'Fargo' anyone?
